dual degree thoughts
Perhaps you’re reading this purely out of curiosity, but hopefully some of you have been directed here by a teacher or friend who cares about you and your future. I’m by no means an authority on the considerations that should go into deciding whether or not to pursue a dual degree in music and an outside field (and how best to do it), but it’s certainly something I’ve spent a great deal of time thinking about and it has been my experience that many (if not most) high school students who are both talented in music and have substantive career aspirations outside of music are generally significantly under-informed about the process of arriving at the right decision for themselves about a dual degree. I know I was! Then, hopefully, at least having an organized document that talks about some of the relevant issues to think about can help. Good luck!
