2017 NBA hackathon

In September 2017, Nick Canova, Matt Chen, Vihan Lakshman, and I competed in and won first prize at the NBA Hackathon. We created a projection of future shot location distributions and proposed a new "bonus 2" scoring format as a way to incentivize players and teams to utilize the whole space of the floor more evenly, namely to increase the number of mid- and long-range 2-point jump shots taken.
